The Ghanaian entertainment industry has been criticized for being unjust to its veterans in their old age.

At a time when they should be living comfortably, they find themselves helpless and with nothing to do.

Many of the actors who were popular in the past have often fallen into poverty as they have gotten older.

They are reduced to begging in order to survive, or they die begging after suffering from a variety of ailments associated with old age.

TT: Was born Psalm Adjeteyfio, TT, passed away on April 8, 2022. He rose to fame with the Taxi Driver television series in the early 2000s, but he became impoverished in his later years. TT was reduced to begging and was frequently in the news pleading for help to pay for food or rent. While still alive, the veteran actor blamed his poverty on neglecting his children and pursuing another woman whom he later referred to as a “demon.”

Addo, William: In his old age, the veteran actor known as Akpatse has also become impoverished. He is currently blind in both eyes and has repeatedly requested assistance. The actor recently made headlines when he boldly appealed to President Akufo-Addo for help.

Emmanuel Armah: Now that he is old, the veteran actor is also fighting for his life. Armah is currently suffering from a stroke and had previously requested assistance.

Kohwe: Kohwe died tragically in September after living in abject poverty. He fought a stroke for a while before finally giving up. Before his death, Kohwe was said to be receiving financial assistance as well as provisions from former President John Mahama
